Jennifer Tobin Named Chair of Edible Education Experience Board of Directors

Jennifer Slone Tobin, a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Orlando office and member of the firm’s Executive Committee, was recently voted Chair of the Board of Directors of Edible Education Experience.

“I am excited for the opportunity to continue to grow Edible Ed’s presence in the Central Florida community, which will allow more children and adults to enjoy our unique and fun garden and kitchen experiences,” said Jennifer. “I am grateful to the hard work of Jose Venegas, who steered this organization through the last 5 years, setting the stage for future successes.”

Edible Education Experience, which operates the 3,500 sq. ft. Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House and Culinary Garden in College Park, is a nonprofit teaching kitchen and garden located in the heart of Central Florida. As the first of its kind in Orlando, Edible Ed offers hands-on sensory experiences in their teaching kitchen and culinary garden to build life skills and bolster engagement with food systems.

In her leadership role, Jennifer will work in cooperation with members of the board to serve Central Florida area students and others, as they advance the Edible Ed’s mission to build strong community connections through seed-to-table experiences in order to forge meaningful relationships and shift perspectives around nutrition and well-being.
