On November 7, Fort Lauderdale attorney Deedee Bitran served as a panelist at FIU Law’s Annual Labor and Employment Law Luncheon. Professor Kerri Stone moderated the panel which consisted of local labor and employment law attorneys. Deedee Bitran’s co-panelists were Adam Kemper, the Workplace Law Firm; Katy Yang Page, Amazon; Carmen Cartaya, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; Alan Persaud, Littler Mendelson; and Jason Anon, Jackson Lewis.
The panel offered FIU Law students some general advice on succeeding in summer associate jobs, clerkships, and law school, as well as guidance on navigating the employment law specialty. The law students networked with the panelists and had the opportunity to ask the panelists questions about their career paths and recent trends in employment law.
