Meredith Delcamp Discusses Build-For-Rent Development with the Tampa Bay Times

Meredith Delcamp, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, spoke with the Tampa Bay Times about Florida’s booming build-for-rent industry and the development of such communities in the Tampa Bay area.

In the publication’s recent piece, “Built-for-rent houses coming to Tampa Bay suburbs as industry booms,” Meredith discusses the trending development and construction of build-for-rent subdivisions amid ongoing high demand in Florida’s housing market. Commenting on the trend, Meredith discusses the benefits of the build-for-rent industry for both consumers and developers. According to Meredith, Florida is an attractive build-for-rent market to developers due to its population influx of out-of-staters moving south combined with the market’s desirability and low supply.

“Currently speaking, it’s very difficult to buy a home. There’s so much demand,” Meredith said. With rental houses, “you can still live in community you want to live in ... while the market is stabilizing.”
