Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office is pleased to be recognized as a “2021 One Tampa Bay” honoree by the Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ).
“One Tampa Bay” is an award program designed to spotlight the community’s stand out non-profits and corporate sanctioned gifting. The awards recognize local organizations going above and beyond to give back to the Tampa Bay community. Out of 180 total nominations, the honorees recognized for their philanthropic efforts in 2021 included 11 corporate philanthropies and 22 nonprofit organizations. To determine the corporate honorees, the TBBJ’s judging panel considered a range of criteria in the in-depth nominating packets, ultimately highlighting the businesses who have ingrained philanthropy into their corporate culture.
“It is an honor to be listed alongside the dedicated nonprofits and businesses who have made a difference in our community during these turbulent times,” said R. Alan Higbee, Managing Partner of Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office.
Since the opening of the Tampa office in 2006, the attorneys and staff in Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office have contributed thousands of hours in volunteer and pro bono hours to charitable organizations, non-profits and individuals. In addition to the dedicated attorneys who provide pro bono services to the low-income and indigent population, the Shutts Tampa office also has a volunteer committee which organizes various philanthropic activities, such as volunteering during the holidays to collect and deliver gifts to the elderly or to underprivileged children.
“Thanks to the unparalleled efforts of our attorneys and staff, Shutts & Bowen’s Tampa office will continue to advocate for underrepresented populations needing access to justice and champion efforts that benefit our community,” said Ella Shenhav, partner in the Shutts Tampa office and member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
