Shutts & Bowen LLP announced today that seven attorneys at the firm have been elevated to partnership, effective January 1, 2020.

Seven associates from various offices throughout the firm were elevated.
Miami
Logan E. Gans is a member of the Tax and International Law Practice Group. He regularly represents clients on U.S. Federal tax, international tax, and state and local tax matters. Gans advises his U.S. clients on outbound corporate and tax planning and his foreign clients on their inbound investments to the United States. In addition, he advises clients on the use of qualified opportunity funds for investments in opportunity zones and qualified opportunity zone businesses. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, his M.S. in Accounting from the Boston College Carroll School of Management, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Emory University.
Jake Monk is a member in the Insurance Law and Appellate Practice Groups. He regularly represents insurance carriers and other corporations in all forms of federal and state trial and appellate matters as well as class actions. He also regularly serves as local counsel for out-of-state firms that have limited presences in Florida. Before practicing law, Monk worked in IT-healthcare project management and consulting for major hospital systems and regional physician networks. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. from The Ohio State University.
Mayte Peña is a member of the Class Action and Mass Litigation Practice Group. Her practice is focused on general civil litigation, including business litigation and insurance-related claims. She primarily represents insurance providers in personal injury protection litigation matters, specializing in the interpretation and application of automobile insurance policies. Peña received her J.D. from Florida International University College of Law, her B.S. from Nova Southeastern University and her A.S. from Miami Dade College.
Aleksey Shtivelman is a member of the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He focuses his practice on counseling companies and individuals doing business across borders. Shtivelman specializes in complex dispute resolution, commercial arbitration, and international litigation. Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, he is a native Russian speaker, fluent in Spanish, and adeptly represents clients who conduct business in those languages. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.S. and B.A. from Stony Brook University in New York.
Raul L. Tano is a member of the Class Action & Mass Litigation Practice Group. His practice is focused on general civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance-related claims such as personal injury protection and third party liability claims stemming from general commercial liability insurance policies. He has successfully defended personal injury protection lawsuits on a multitude of issues and has co-hosted training seminars for insurance adjusters and other industry professionals on the intricacies of the Florida No-Fault law. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from Florida International University.
Orlando
Christian M. Leger is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on corporate matters and class action defense. He has represented developers, healthcare providers, technology companies, financial institutions and professional sports franchises. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Florida.
Tampa
Kristin K. Morris is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on real estate transactions, including property acquisition and development, commercial leasing, construction contracts, telecommunications leasing, and other general real estate matters. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati and her B.S., with honors, from the University of Louisville.
