Recognition

Miami Dade College will honor distinguished alumni in their 18th Annual MDC Alumni Hall of Fame event. Among this year’s class of high achievers is Miami partner Michael Lozoff.

Honorees are recognized for their “career accomplishments and positive impact on their communities and MDC.” The event, which will take place on April 14, is the signature fundraising event of the Miami Dade College Foundation, raising essential funds for student scholarships.

Michael is being recognized in the Law category. With more than 30 years of experience providing legal advice to credit unions throughout the country on matters ranging from regulatory compliance and governance to guidance on the mission of not-for-profit financial institutions, he has been recognized as a top lawyer in finance by South Florida Legal Guide and  is a frequent presenter at national credit union conferences.

After graduating from MDC in 1963 and transferring to University of Florida, Michael left college for several years to become actively involved in the civil rights movement, eventually working as a community organizer in Georgia on a project funded by Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr.
