Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce the addition of five new attorneys to the firm. These new hires bring a diverse range of legal experience to support our more than 30 practice areas.

Amanda B. Buffinton (Partner, Tampa) is a member of the Construction Litigation Practice Group. A Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney, Amanda is also Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar. She has extensive experience representing clients in both state and federal court for matters involving construction disputes, professional liability claims, including the defense of design professionals, contract disputes and commercial lending and banking disputes.

Meredith A. Freeman (Partner, Tampa) is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Meredith practices primarily in the areas of construction litigation and business litigation. She is experienced in defending architects, engineers, and other professionals in negligence cases and is approved counsel for several professional liability insurers.

Jennifer L.D. Kypreos (Partner, West Palm Beach) is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Jennifer’s practice encompasses all aspects of the acquisition, development and sale of real estate with a focus on commercial leasing. Jennifer negotiates retail, office and industrial leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants on national and local levels. Her retail leasing experience extends to restaurant, big box and specialty use leases.

Shara K. Scottland (Associate, Miami) is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Shara has experience handling commercial and real estate finance transactions and corporate matters, including commercial, securities, real estate and EB-5 transactions. She previously served as a federal judicial extern for the Honorable Charlene E. Honeywell at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

David D. Switzler (Associate, Miami) is a member of the Class Action and Mass Litigation Practice Group. David focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, and has experience handling health care and insurance litigation matters. He previously served as a judicial law clerk for U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
