Tampa Office Co-Hosts Seminar with Naimoli Institute

Shutts & Bowen's Tampa office has partnered with the University of Tampa's Naimoli Institute for Business Strategy to provide a seminar series on Legal Aspects of Strategy in Human Resources, Estate Planning, Real Estate and Finance to the Tampa Bay business community.  The second seminar of the series was held on October 6, 2010 at the University of Tampa and the next seminar in the series will be held in March 2011.

At the October 6 seminar, the presenters were Steve Barber, “Employee Benefits - The Year(s) Ahead;” Bill Cassidy, “An Employer's Best Hiring Practices - How to shop for new employees without buying a lawsuit;" and Bob Waltuch, “The Current Conundrum of Our Estate Gift and Generation-Skipping Tax System.”

Mr. Barber has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of ERISA transactional and compliance law and employee benefits law.  He has worked extensively in the design, adoption, operation and administration of employee benefit plans, including preparation of all necessary plan documents.

Mr. Cassidy represents management clients in employment law, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, representation of employers before the NLRB on matters involving concerted activity, restrictive covenants and noncompetition agreements, and both Florida and federal whistleblower laws.

Mr. Waltuch practices in the areas of estate planning, trusts and estates, fiduciary duties, including compliance with the Prudent Investor Rule and the Florida Principal and Income Act.
