Shutts & Bowen LLP was pleased to sponsor the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 33rd Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School Conference, held July 16 through 19 at the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort. Tampa partners Deborah A. Getzoff and Meredith S. Delcamp were educational speakers at the event, which is the largest and most successfully attended environmental conference in the state of Florida.

With over 1,200 attendees from both the public and private sectors, the Environmental ‘Summer School’ Conference featured over 70 courses throughout the event and offered continuing education credits to legal professionals, engineers and licensed environmental professionals.

Speaking at the conference for the first time, Meredith presented on how to close high risk environmentally contaminated sites during the “Follow the Money to the End: Capital Investment and Managing Environmental Risk” seminar. Deborah presented multiple times at the 2019 conference, outlining Army Corps permitting and mitigation processes in the “Federal Wetlands Permitting Update” course. Deborah has been a presenter on various topics throughout the conference’s thirty-three year history. Also in attendance at the multi-day event was Tampa attorney Kasey A. Feltner.

Founded in 1968, the Florida Chamber Foundation is a business-led, solutions development and research organization, working in partnership with state business leaders to secure Florida’s future. The Florida Environmental Network, Inc. (FENI) is part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to keep members and organizations informed of environmental and growth management laws and regulations. Each year FENI produces the popular ‘Summer School’ Conference to engage with engineers, attorneys, consultants, state and local government officials, developers, landowners and others with a strong interest in environmental issues in Florida.
