Real Estate partner Alexander Tachmes was recently quoted in the Miami Herald on the proposal to stop serving much earlier than the current 5 a.m. on busy weekends. The Ocean Drive Association wants to allay concerns from the city and residents who see Ocean Drive as the source of bad behavior. “Ocean Drive has got to stop being the scapegoat for every criminal incident in South Beach,” Alex told the Miami Herald.
Alex is an attorney representing the Ocean Drive Association and key figure in the development of the 10-point plan, which is already in motion. “Owners fear a 2 a.m. ban would send an overwhelmingly negative message out to potential tourists who want to enjoy the Beach’s nightlife,” said Alex. He was the main spokesperson during the press conference and appeared on multiple news stations.
