Shutts & Bowen LLP, an Am Law 200 Florida-based full service law firm with over 260 attorneys in eight offices in the State of Florida has a full time employment opportunity in the Commercial Real Estate Department of our MIAMI office for a Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal. The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will support attorneys working on complex commercial real estate transactions, including but not limited to review of title and survey. This is a full time position (37.50 hours per week); candidates should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
The paralegal will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from contracts and loan commitments through post-closing. The paralegal will prepare date timelines, closing checklists, closing statements, title and other affidavits, entity authorizations, title policies, etc.; will be responsible for title and closing binders and will assist with other aspects of the transactions, both locally and nationally. Additional responsibilities include assisting with commercial real estate due diligence, including lease reviews, title objection letters, UCC searches and entity formation.
Qualifications & Prior Experience
Position requirements include: minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial Real Estate as a paralegal in a medium to large sized law firm, commercial title insurance company or other professional services environment. Experience must include the ability to perform the above duties and responsibilities with limited supervision and adhering to strict deadlines. Proficiency with WebATIDS, Propel and DisplaySoft programs preferred; proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook a must. Filesite experience and Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
