Daniel O’Keefe Appointed to University of Florida Board of Trustees

Daniel O'Keefe, OrlandoShutts & Bowen is pleased to announce the appointment of Orlando partner Daniel O’Keefe to the University of Florida Board of Trustees. Daniel, who was appointed by the Florida Board of Governors, will serve a five-year term on the Board.

The UF Board of Trustees is the public body corporate of the university. The Board sets policy and serves as the institution’s legal owner and final authority. Trustees are responsible for cost-effective policy; implementing and maintaining high-quality education programs consistent with the university’s mission; performance evaluation; and developing a process meeting state policy, budgeting and education standards.

Daniel is a double Gator, receiving his B.S.B.A. in Business & Finance as well as his J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida.

About Daniel T. O’Keefe

Daniel O’Keefe is Co-Managing Partner of the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member and a former Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Daniel handles real estate and land use issues, from negotiating loans and government approvals to dealing with regulatory agencies and handling concurrency issues for builders and developers. Daniel assists developers and home builders with local and national large-scale projects. Daniel is a former banker and represents financial institutions in loan transactions as well as work out and restructuring transactions. Daniel was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the South Florida Water Management District in 2011 and was elected chairman in 2013.
