Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that Orlando Senior Attorney Lauren L. Millcarek was recently interviewed for a feature piece in The Federal Lawyer Magazine. The article, titled “The Year of the Woman…President,” features question and answer spotlights from the recent women presidents of the Federal Bar Association’s Orlando Chapter (FBA Orlando).

In the article, Lauren, who served as the FBA Orlando Chapter President from 2018 to 2019, details her term’s greatest challenges, the memorable moment when the Honorable Roy B. “Skip” Dalton, Jr. -- the federal judge for whom she clerked -- swore her into office, and her advice for emerging leaders within the Federal Bar Association, which celebrates its centennial this year. As the youngest President to have ever been elected to FBA Orlando and the chapter’s sixth woman president in its nearly half-century history, Lauren also discusses her hopes for the current and future women leaders in the profession.

Founded in 1920, The Federal Bar Association (FBA) is dedicated to the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law.
