Shelly Wald Speaks About Spousal Rights and Fiduciary Duties in Probate

Shelly Wald, a member of Shutts & Bowen’s Trusts & Estates Department, spoke at a recent National Business Institute Seminar on “The Probate Process From Start To Finish.” Ms. Wald addressed the role and duties of the personal representative during the probate process, as well as effective estate management. In addition, she covered spousal rights during the probate process, including a spouse’s rights to exempt property, the elective share, and the process for obtaining these benefits.

Ms. Wald works with individuals and families of high net worth and is one of a limited number of Florida attorneys who is Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates, by the Florida Bar. She focuses exclusively on estate planning and trust and estate administration in Shutts & Bowen's West Palm Beach office, and has broad experience in this field.
