Shutts & Bowen LLP Orlando was proud to participate as the presenting sponsor of the “7th Annual Fire in the Park Chili Cook Off For A Cure” fundraiser on January 25th, 2020, which focused on raising money for pediatric oncology. Representing Shutts Orlando were partners Eric C. Reed and Stefan A. Rubin, who also accepted several awards while at the event.
Since its inception in 2013, the chili cook off has raised in excess of $85,000, with funds donated toward finding a cure for cancer. The annual fundraising event was held in Avalon Park and was filled with chili tastings, music, games and family fun, with a focus on raising funds for AdventHealth For Children - Pediatric Oncology. Featured categories at the award winning chili tasting event included “Best Traditional Red Chili,” “Best Homestyle Chili,” “Peoples’ Choice,” “Best Booth Decorations” and “Team Fundraising” Awards. There was also a Cornhole Tournament, a Kids Zone, Raffles and Celebrity Judges.
At the event, Eric and Stefan were presented with three 3rd place trophies, including 3rd place in “Best Homestyle Chili”, “Team Fundraising Awards” and the “People’s Choice Chili.”
About Eric C. Reed
Eric Reed is a partner in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. A Florida Certified Public Accountant and Martindale-Hubbell AV® attorney, Stefan concentrates his practice in general corporate representation, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financing.
