Alexander Tachmes, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Miami office, discussed his hotel market resurgence predictions in Bisnow’s latest coverage of the industry’s anticipated recovery period.

Featuring commentary from Miami hotel experts, Bisnow’s article “The Sector Is In Complete Flux: Miami Hotel Experts Predict Shakeout Next Year,” highlights the uncertainties surrounding the South Florida hotel market, which is still reeling from the pandemic’s economic fallout. Throughout the piece the South Florida hotel experts agreed that business and recreational travel would bounce back to pre-COVID-19 numbers, but disagreed on the timeline for recovery and the degree of distress that real estate assets would be under.

Alex, who represents some of South Florida’s most prominent hotels, restaurants and bars, predicted that the timing of the anticipated recovery should be underway during the last quarter of 2021. Additional commentary throughout the article focused on hotel valuation and anticipated bankruptcies, as well as the incoming wave of transactions on distressed deals.
