Benjamin Elliott, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, was recently appointed to serve a two-year term on the Bench Bar Fund Committee of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
The Bench Bar Fund Committee is established for the purpose of advising the Court on matters of policy in the administration of the Bench Bar Fund and approval of expenditures. As the name suggests, the Bench Bar Fund is used to benefit the bench and bar, covering everything from expenses for lawyer admission or discipline proceedings to legal education programs. Requests for funding may be made by anyone.
The Committee is made up of an attorney from each division and ten judges from across the district. Ben was appointed as the Orlando Division’s attorney member by Chief Judge Marcia Morales Howard.
