Charla M. Burchett, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Sarasota office, recently attended Impact100 SRQ’s Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Celebration, which awarded four separate $101,000 grants to nonprofit organizations impacting Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
The Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Celebration took place on November 6th and focused on presentations made by five finalists for transformational grant awards, each contributing to one of five focus areas identified: Arts & Culture, Environment and Recreation, Health and Wellness, Family, and Education. Following the presentations, the organization’s members voted on the recipients of the grant awards. Charla participated in the Grant Review Phase by serving on a Focus Area Committee to review applications, perform site visits, and vote for a finalist from a specific focus area. The 2021 grants were awarded to initiatives by Girls Inc., Crowley Museum & Nature Center Inc., HOPE Family Services, Inc., and Resilient Retreat, Inc.
A longstanding In-Kind Donor, Charla is also a Founding Member of Impact100 SRQ and was recently named to the Impact100 SRQ Advisory Task Force.
