Tampa partner Ella Shenhav and attorney Kurtis Hutson were recently featured as distinguished faculty members by the National Business Institute (NBI) at two seminars, “Top Current Internal Data Handling Risks and Policies for Businesses” and “Data Privacy Considerations in Negotiating Business Agreements.”
The seminars, which were held virtually on May 29, 2024, offered CLE credits approved by The Florida Bar.
Ella presented on the latest changes and compliance requirements regarding data privacy. The seminars allowed attendees to learn from experienced faculty and explore the latest from recent case law and litigation trends, as well as state privacy laws, federal lawmaking efforts, and international legal requirements. Ella also provided tips to seminar attendees on solid data privacy policies, including access rules and data protection considerations in M&A transactions and vendor agreements. Kurtis presented a section covering types of protected data, including key developments in the commercialization of biometric data and facial recognition technologies in the public and private sectors.
