Erik Szabo and Scott Glass, partners in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office, recently spoke at the 2022 Mid Florida Housing Summit, an annual event providing an overview of the mid-Florida regional apartment market, including operations, regulatory and development issues.
During the event’s Regulatory and Legislative panel, Erik and Scott addressed regulatory and legislative issues pertaining to housing developers and operators in Central Florida, including the rent control ordinance recently passed by Orange County and which is currently the subject of litigation brought by Shutts on behalf of the Florida Apartment Association and the Florida Association of Realtors. They were joined by co-panelists Greg Brown of the National Apartment Association and Amanda White of the Florida Apartment Association.
The Mid Florida Housing Summit is designed to give attendees a better perspective of the current rental housing market in Mid Florida and a vision for the future. The summit features experts in market research, development, operations and regulatory issues, including expert panelists who have their finger on the pulse of the region’s multifamily industry.
