On Thursday, October 21, the firm’s Focus on Women Group held a Lunch & Learn panel discussion on the topic of Board Certification. The event centered on the importance and benefits of Florida Bar Board Certification, in the hopes of inspiring the next generation of attorneys to move forward with certification.
The conversation was led by West Palm Beach partner Patricia Leonard. Joining Patti on the panel for the discussion were several of Shutts & Bowen’s female partners who have attained Florida Bar Board Certification: Charla Burchett (Florida Bar Board Certified in Trusts, Wills and Estates); Meredith Freeman (Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law); Sandra Krumbein Sadov (Florida Bar Board Certified in Condominium & Planned Development Law); Julissa Rodriguez (Florida Bar Board Certified in Appellate Law); and Jennifer Slone Tobin (Florida Bar Board Certified in Real Estate Law).
Panelists discussed how Board Certification has benefitted their practice; how they decided to pursue certification; and the specifications of examination.
“This program really showcased the best of our attorneys,” stated Patti. “Not only did we highlight the expertise achieved by the amazing women on our panel, we upheld the values of our Focus on Women Group by providing mentorship opportunities to those looking to further their careers by pursuing Florida Bar Board Certification.”
