On February 7, Frank Zacherl, leader of the firm's Class Action Practice Group, and Meredith Delcamp, a partner in the Business Litigation Practice Group, presented the topic "Navigating the Rising Tide of Class Actions in Florida's Residential Real Estate Sector" at the Florida Bar Leasing Committee Meeting.
During the meeting, Frank and Meredith discussed the rise of Florida’s class action lawsuits in the real estate sector. They outlined the kinds of cases being filed, and discussed defense strategies for these cases. Additionally, they provided recommendations on how to avoid these lawsuits.
The Florida Bar Real Estate Leasing Committee (RPPTL) meets to share information about real estate leasing and landlord-tenant law. The committee also provides input on proposed legislation and works with the Florida Bar's Continuing Legal Education Committee to educate members.
