The implosion of FTX, a cryptocurrency trading platform, is leading to increased demand for lawyers with financial services regulatory and creditors’ rights expertise, as Miami partner Greta Trotman recently commented in an interview published in the American Lawyer.
The massive bankruptcy case also has an international layer, adding complexity to the case. “The question for some international clients involved with FTX is where they want to file their claims. Even though a client may be located in Brazil, for example, they may want to bring the case to the U.S. because they may have more power to enforce claims there.”
