Jake Monk Presents at the International Claims Association’s 2024 Annual Education Conference

Jake Monk, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Miami office, presented on Common and Emerging Issues Regarding Independent Agents at the International Claims Association’s 2024 Annual Education Conference on September 9, 2024 in Grapevine, Texas.

A variety of topics were covered in Jake’s presentation with co-presenters Tara Miller, Senior Counsel at Royal Neighbors of America, and Trevor Whitmer, Legal Department Manager at Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company/Londen Insurance Group. These topics included but are not limited to insurance agent licensing for the purpose of paying override commissions, non-compete issues, monitoring insurance policy replacement activity, working with outside counsel to make sure independent agents are described properly in litigation, common agent-broker issues in litigation, and much more.
