Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that JoAnne “Joleen” Searles has joined the firm’s Sarasota office as a partner in the Private Client Services Practice Group.
Joleen focuses her practice on complex estate planning, trust and estate administration, settlement and probate, high net worth planning, as well as federal estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.

Joleen earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law.
She is a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section, the Sarasota Bar Association and the Southwest Estate Planning Council. In addition to her practice-related activities, she is passionate about serving the Sarasota community. Joleen is a member of the Board of Trustees for Forty Carrots Family Center and the Board of Directors of the Suncoast School for Innovative Studies.
