On Tuesday, March 22, Logan Gans, a Tax & International Law partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Miami office, will participate in a Zoom webinar for the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) Miami.
The presentation, titled “2022 US Real Estate Tax Issues Update for Nonresident Aliens: FIRPTA and Opportunity Zones,” will discuss practical tax issues that foreign investors regularly face in the still hot 2022 US real estate market. Specifically, the panel will discuss how FIRPTA issues typically impact real estate transactions of nonresident aliens in 2022 and how nonresident aliens and their closely-held companies can also potentially benefit from investing in opportunity zones.
Logan will be joined on the panel by Michelle Gonzalez-Rubio, Miami Managing Partner of H&CO Advisors. They will be moderated by Madelayne Cordero, Managing Director of Wealth Management & Chief Fiduciary Officer at City National Bank.
