Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce Tallahassee partner and Chair of the firm’s Constitutional Law Section, Ricky Polston, is again a Certified Circuit Court Mediator and is available to schedule difficult or complex mediations statewide. Prior to his serving as a Florida Supreme Court Justice from 2008-2023 (Chief Justice from 2012 to 2014), and as a judge at the First District Court of Appeal from 2001-2008, he was a certified mediator along with his law practice. Ricky’s practice encompasses multiple areas of practice, including litigation, insurance, appellate law and government law.
Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process used to settle and resolve legal matters. A Mediator serves as a neutral third-party, trained in the law and dispute resolution process, to bring closure and resolution.
Ricky is also available as an arbitrator as a Member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel, and as a Private Judge (under section 44.104, Florida Statutes).
