Shutts Attorneys to Speak at Palm Beach County Bar Association’s 2021 Bench Bar Conference

The Palm Beach County Bar Association’s upcoming Bench Bar Conference will feature participating attorneys from Shutts & Bowen LLP’s West Palm Beach office, including Sean M. Smith, Moderator and Co-Chair of the Conference’s Commercial Litigation Session, and Matthew R. Chait, featured Panelist during the Commercial Litigation Session.

The Palm Beach County Bar Association will be hosting the 2021 Bench Bar Conference on Friday, April 9, 2021, with the Commercial Litigation Session (webinar series) taking place from 1 PM – 3 PM. “Commercial Litigation Part 1” of the session will focus on the new summary judgment standard in Florida, Do’s and Dont’s from the bench in commercial litigation cases (a view from the bench), tips for non-jury trials, and the use of Daubert motions in commercial litigation. Matt Chait and multiple Judges from the 15th Judicial Circuit will serve as panelists during “Commercial Litigation Part 2” of the session, focusing on the lasting legacy of COVID-19 in complex commercial cases in the 15th Judicial Circuit, including discussion of “courtroom” technology, what judges find effective during Zoom presentations, and what attorneys should expect to see in the 15th Judicial Circuit going forward. In addition to serving as session Co-Chair, Sean will also act as a moderator during the 2-hour session.
