Shutts & Bowen LLP, a full-service business law firm, is pleased to announce that Brian D. Kennedy has joined its West Palm Beach office as a partner in the Private Client Services Practice Group.
Kennedy represents corporate and individual fiduciaries in the administration of estates and trusts of high-net-worth individuals, including the filing of estate tax returns, gift tax returns, modification of trusts and creating Florida domicile for clients moving to Florida. He also provides clients with comprehensive estate planning strategies to preserve generational wealth and efficiently transfer assets.
“Brian brings valuable estate planning and corporate transactional work experience to complement our work in these areas,” said Matthew R. Chait, West Palm Beach Office Managing Partner. “He is a great addition to the Shutts family, and we are excited to welcome him.”
In addition to his private wealth clients, Kennedy represents corporations across industry sections in matters involving corporate and partnership formations and varying types of reorganizations. He also represents both small and large nonprofit organizations in resolving tax-exempt issues and facilitates the creation and administration of private foundations.
He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Kennedy also earned an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida.
