Eric Reed, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Orlando office and President of the Orange County Bar Association, spoke during the 14th Annual Breakfast of Champions. Shutts was pleased to sponsor the virtual fundraising event held in support of the Legal Aid Society of Orange County Bar Association.
The organization’s 2021 fundraiser marked 60 years of service to the Central Florida community. The virtual event was moderated by Stewart Moore, featuring special guests and community leaders as speakers, including Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Florida Bar President Mike Tanner, as well as legal aid client testimonials. Eric spoke several times during the event, including during the Orange County Bar Association’s “Some Good News (SNG)” video segment.
The Legal Aid Society was established by OCBA leadership in the 1960’s to fulfill the Bar’s strongly-held value of ensuring access to justice for all. Unique in the nation, the relationship between the OCBA and the Legal Aid Society includes OCBA membership requirements for attorneys to take two pro bono cases annually, make a financial contribution, or undertake specific community projects through the Legal Aid Society. Shutts & Bowen currently has 100% of their Orlando attorneys featured as active OCBA members.
