Shutts & Bowen Welcomes Experienced Civil Litigator and Appellate Practitioner Amber S. Nunnally

Shutts & Bowen is pleased to announce that Amber S. Nunnally has rejoined its Tallahassee office as a partner in the Appellate Practice Group. A Shutts & Bowen alumna, she previously practiced with the firm from 2017 to 2023.

Amber is experienced in all aspects of appellate advocacy and procedure, having presented oral argument at the Florida Supreme Court and filed briefs in all six of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal. She provides appellate support during trial and pretrial activities, assisting in the development and presentation of legal arguments, record development, and identification and preservation of error. She is also an experienced litigation attorney who represents businesses and state agencies in state courts on matters of law and public policy, particularly in the areas of constitutional and administrative law.

“We are excited to welcome Amber back to the firm,” said Daniel Nordby, a partner in Shutts & Bowen’s Tallahassee office and Chair of the firm's Appellate Practice Group. “With her extensive experience in appellate and administrative law and deep background at the highest levels of state government, Amber’s return reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional advocacy and counsel to our clients on their most challenging legal issues.”

With more than 20 years of experience in Florida government, Amber has worked in the Executive Office of the Governor, the House of Representatives, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Department of State. She also served as a staff attorney to then-Justice Ricky Polston of the Florida Supreme Court (now the Chair of Shutts & Bowen’s Constitutional Law Section) and Judge Kent Wetherell of Florida’s First District Court of Appeal.

A dual graduate of Florida State University, she earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and her juris doctor, cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law.

“I’m thrilled to rejoin the Tallahassee office and the incredible team at Shutts & Bowen. I’m happy to once again work with my colleagues in the firm’s powerhouse Appellate Practice Group,” said Amber.
