Shutts & Bowen, a full-service business law firm, is pleased to announce that James C. Gavigan, Jr. has joined its West Palm Beach office as a partner in the Land Use and Zoning Group.
Jamie represents developers and property owners in their interactions with local, county and state agencies on land use and land development issues. He is also an experienced litigator who has successfully handled a wide variety of land use and real property disputes, taking claims and inverse condemnation actions, title and boundary issues, state and local permitting issues, and riparian rights issues.
“We are excited to welcome an attorney of Jamie’s caliber to the West Palm Beach office,” said Matthew R. Chait, West Palm Beach Office Managing Partner. “His land use and zoning experience is a perfect complement to our firm’s existing practice.”
Jamie currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Land Use and Local Government Committee.
He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
