Shutts Welcomes Seven Law Students to Summer Associate Program

Shutts Welcomes 7 Summer AssociatesSeven law students have joined Shutts & Bowen for its 10-week 2022 Summer Associate Program.

The firm’s program is designed to provide an intellectually challenging and professionally gratifying experience for law students. Students have full freedom to explore any and all practice areas that interest them and delve into the different aspects of the firm’s legal services. Summer Associates are paired with a mentor within the firm to offer insights into the history and culture of Shutts and gain an accurate sense of what it is like to work at a nationally-recognized law firm.

The students will take part in firm-sponsored social events and community service projects throughout the summer in addition to attending client meetings, depositions, court hearings and other proceedings.

This year’s Summer Associate Program students are:

Anne M. Romero – West Palm Beach – Anne joins us from Florida International University College of Law, where she is a member of FIU Law Review, Moot Court and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. She previously interned for Judge Sanchez-Llorens of the Eleventh Circuit.

Ashelin L. Myus – Miami – Ashelin joins us from the University of Miami School of Law, where she is the President of OUTLaw and a member of the Business Law Society. She previously interned at the SC Small Business Development Center. Ashelin is participating as part of the 1L LCLD Scholars Program, which is designed to strengthen the legal pipeline by expanding the number of opportunities for diverse first-year law students.

Brenna M. Morecraft – Miami – Brenna joins us from Florida State University College of Law, where she is an Articles Editor for the Florida State University Law Review. She previously was a Summer Law Clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office.

Caleb A. Stephens – Tallahassee – Caleb joins us from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he is an Articles Review Editor for the Virginia Tax Review, Executive Vice President of the Law Christian Fellowship, and Technology Editor of the Virginia Law Weekly. He previously interned for Justice Lawson of the Florida Supreme Court.

Emma G. Refuveille – Miami – Emma joins us from the University of Miami School of Law. She is also an International Arbitration LL.M. candidate. She also is a Research Assistant for the University of Miami School of Law International Arbitration Institute.

Keegan D. Stinnett – Orlando – Keegan joins us from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he is a member of the Association of Law and Business and the John Marshall Bar Association.

Zachary A. Amrose – West Palm Beach – Zachary joins us from University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he is a member of the Florida Law Review and the Jewish Law Student Association. He previously interned with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County.
