Sidney Calloway Discusses Adapting to AI and Attorney Retention with the DBR

Fort Lauderdale Office Managing Partner Sidney Calloway was recently featured in a Daily Business Review article discussing his vision for the future and how he plans to adapt to the ever-changing legal market.

The article, titled “Adapting AI and the Needs of Lawyers Will Be Key For Shutts & Bowen, Says Incoming Ft. Lauderdale Leader,” was published by the Daily Business Review on January 9, 2025. In the article, Sidney discusses his plans to navigate the competitive talent market and leverage artificial intelligence technology in his new leadership role. 

Regarding AI-enabled technology, Sidney noted that although it is new, the firm understands the essential and emergent nature of AI and has taken steps to begin activating its business model to include a deliberative approach to drive client services and solutions.

Regarding the competitive talent market, Sidney explained that it is essential to retain and support the development of young lawyers.

“We’re going to be more successful as partners as we understand better the dynamics of developing and mentoring our young lawyers,” said Sidney. “This business depends on the youngest, the best and brightest.”
