On November 12, the South Florida Business Journal hosted a virtual CEO Roundtable where 10 South Florida CEOs reflected on the challenges brought on by the pandemic over the past nine months. The pandemic has tasked business leaders “with leading their companies in ways they never could have imagined.”
Bowman Brown, Chairman of Shutts & Bowen’s Executive Committee, was among the leaders who discussed ways technology enabled their ventures to operate successfully and the concerns raised by that same technology. Bowman said technology plays a role in virtually every aspect of legal proceedings now, so it is critical that the company’s systems remain up to date and secure.
He noted that the firm has installed leading edge technology for interacting with clients and opposing counsel, facilitating legal research and litigation discovery, and ensuring the security of confidential client and firm information. In this last regard, he noted that the firm employs an experienced dedicated data security officer, and conducts regular staff training to ensure best practices.
