On November 4, 2024, Miami International Litigation and Arbitration attorney Tarmo Jõeveer spoke to students at the University of Miami’s Border Disputes in the 21st Century class, discussing the role of international institutions such as the United Nations’ International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in resolving territorial disputes between sovereign nations. For this discussion, Tarmo drew on more than 15 years of experience from working on border disputes.
Tarmo also discussed international dispute mechanisms available to non-state parties, including investor-state and commercial arbitrations, to draw parallels and provide students with background in the International Dispute Resolution arena.
