Matt Chait and Al LaSorte, both partners in Shutts & Bowen's West Palm Beach office, once again co-chaired Lawyers Have Heart, a 5K run coordinated in conjunction with the American Heart Association's Heart Walk on September 29, 2012. Shutts & Bowen is an inaugural sponsor of Lawyers Have Heart in the Palm Beaches. The goal of the run is for the legal community to come together annually in support of fighting diseases which significantly impact people in their high-stress profession.
The 2012 Heart Walk and 5K run have raised over $580,000, and had thousands of enthusiastic runners and walkers participate. Mr. LaSorte and Mr. Chait have been active organizers and fundraisers for the Run since Mr. LaSorte initiated the event in 2009. The Run has grown each year, and is open to the entire Palm Beach County community.
Al LaSorte is Florida Bar Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Business Litigation. He counsels lenders, businesses, property owners and title insurers throughout the state on commercial disputes, real estate litigation, foreclosure and title insurance matters.
Matt Chait handles a wide variety of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on real estate and creditors' rights litigation, representing financial institutions, private equity funds and servicers.
