Shutts & Bowen partner Alexander Tachmes was recently elected as the Assistant Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Performing Arts Center Trust, a volunteer group of community leaders who oversee the management of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.
“I am proud to play an active role in supporting an organization that promotes art and culture in our community,” said Tachmes, who has been a member of the board since 2013 and also serves on its executive and management committees.
Located in downtown Miami, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is one of the world’s leading performing arts organizations and venues. A 501(c)(3) organization, it features performances by known legends and serves as a launch pad for local artists, presenting nearly 500 events each year.
“Alex has been a dedicated member of the Arsht Center’s Board of Directors,” said PACT Board Chairman Alan Fein. “We are grateful that he has been elected to expand his role and continue to contribute his extensive business knowledge for the benefit of the Arsht Center.”
In addition to his role with the Center, Tachmes also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Miami City Ballet and is a Founder of the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Tachmes serves on the Board of Directors of Temple Moses and is a Governor Emeritus of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Tachmes is also a respected member of Miami’s legal community. Prior to joining the firm, Tachmes served as a First City Attorney for Miami Beach. Today, he is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on governmental matters, including land use and zoning, competitive bidding and lobbying, commercial real estate and hospitality transactions. He is a published author on government contracts compliance and a lecturer and panelist on hospitality and tourism topics.
