Shutts & Bowen Sarasota partner, Charla M. Burchett, recently attended the ‘Impact 100 SRQ: Women Giving Together’ 2019 Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Celebration, which awarded two separate $114,000 grants to organizations impacting Sarasota and Manatee counties. A 2019 In-Kind Donor, Charla is also a Founding Member of Impact 100 SRQ.
Impact 100 SRQ gathers a group of dynamic women philanthropists to each donate $1,000 with the goal of significantly impacting local organizations, with minimum grant increments of $100,000. The Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Celebration focused on the presentation of five finalists for the grant awards, each contributing to one of five focus areas identified: Arts & Culture, Environment and Recreation, Health and Wellness, Family, and Education.
Charla participated in the Grant Review Phase by serving on a Focus Area Committee to review applications, perform site visits, and choose a finalist from a specific focus area. The 2019 grants were awarded to The Haven and Mothers Helping Mothers (MHM).
Impact 100 SRQ (the Sarasota Chapter of Impact 100, Inc.) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower women of all ages, income levels, cultures and backgrounds to collectively give transformational grants to non-profits in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
