Shutts & Bowen partner, Daniel T. O’Keefe, has been appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Governing Board, South Florida Water Management District, representing Glades, Okeechobee, Highlands, Polk, Orange and Osceola counties.
The South Florida Water Management District is a regional governmental agency that oversees the water resources in the southern half of the state and is responsible for managing and protecting water resources by balancing and improving water quality, flood control, natural systems and water supply. It is directed by nine Governing Board members who set policy for the agency. Senate confirmation is pending.
Mr. O’Keefe is Co-Chair of Shutts & Bowen’s Real Estate Department. He practices in the area of real estate and land use law with a focus on multi-family developments, residential developments, representation of financial institutions and large scale multi-use projects.
Mr. O’Keefe graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law and also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a finance major from that institution.
