Fort Lauderdale associate Deedee Bitran recently participated as a panelist on the Power House Women in the Law event at FIU College of Law. The event was moderated by incoming Shutts summer associate, Devon Hoffman (2L), and provided an interactive opportunity for FIU Law students to engage with the panelists, learn about obstacles women face in the legal profession, and discuss avenues to combat those obstacles.
The panelists shared advice with FIU Law students on maintaining professionalism, cultivating a strong work ethic, and tactfully navigating the current job market. The panelists were Deedee Bitran, Professor Kerri Stone, Professor Michele Anglade, Professor Margaret Brenan Correoso, and Professor Amarillys Garcia-Perez.
About Deedee Bitran
Alamea Deedee Bitran is an attorney in the Fort Lauderdale office of Shutts & Bowen, where she is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Deedee represents employers, business owners and developers. While in law school, she served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Ivan F. Fernandez in the Third District Court of Appeal and as an Articles Editor on the FIU Law Review. She also served as a Legal Research Assistant to Professor Kerri Stone, where she researched and contributed to articles on employment discrimination and harassment.
