The Federal Bar Association chapter at the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University hosted a CLE program on labor and employment law on Friday November 8, 2019. The panel was moderated by Lori Adelson of Adelson Law & Mediation and the panelists were Deedee Bitran of Shutts & Bowen LLP; Shayla Waldon of Akerman; Brian Lerner of Kim Vaughan Lerner LLP; and Zascha Blanco Abbott of Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo. The panelists shared with law students and attorneys the various trends in employment law and discussed ways in which attorneys and law students could transition into the field. Bitran encouraged law students to take courses focused on employment law topics, participate in as many writing law student competitions as possible, and actively network to learn from practicing attorneys.
