Governor Rick Scott announced the reappointment of Daniel O’Keefe, a partner in the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen, to the South Florida Water Management District.
The South Florida Water Management District is a regional governmental agency that manages the water resources in the southern half of the state, covering 16 counties from Orlando to the Florida Keys. The agency is responsible for managing and protecting water resources of South Florida by balancing and improving flood control, water supply, water quality and natural systems.
Daniel has served on the panel since 2011 and was elected Chairman in 2013. His current term began on August 26, 2016, and ends on March 1, 2020, subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. He previously served on both the Wekiva River System Advisory Management Committee and the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council.
