As recently reported in the Daily Business Review, Real Estate partners J. Donald Wasil and Alexander Tachmes assisted their client Hersha acquire the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove for $36 million. They guided a smooth transaction between Philadelphia-based Hersha and Miami-based hospitality group Gencom.
Don and Alex previously assisted their client with the acquisition of the Residence Inn by Marriott, also in Coconut Grove. Their relationship with Hersha dates back to 2011 when the company purchased the Courtyard Miami Beach Oceanfront hotel, their first South Florida purchase.
The Ritz-Carlton features 14,000 square feet of meeting space, restaurant, bar, spa, fitness center, retail and about 8,000 square feet of office space.
Don and Alex helped secure an agreement between Hersha and Gencom to retain the seller as construction manager for renovations.
