Shutts & Bowen LLP Partner Joseph M. Goldstein has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Goldstein, 48, a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group, assumed leadership of the 24-lawyer office this month. The Plantation resident first joined Shutts & Bowen in 1994.
“This is part of our broader strategy to move our younger equity partners into positions of leadership at the firm,” said Shutts & Bowen firm wide Managing Partner Joseph Bolton. “Joe Goldstein is a great trial lawyer and advocate, and we are confident that he will inject fresh vigor and growth into our already-thriving Fort Lauderdale office.”
“I anticipate continuing to improve our name recognition in Broward and to maintain our steady and consistent growth by bringing in new attorneys,” says Goldstein. “I look forward to making us more visible as a great destination for talented lawyers.”
Goldstein is among the less than one percent of attorneys who are Florida Bar Board Certified in Business Litigation. Much of his work focuses on government contracts, and he also keeps an office in Shutts & Bowen’s Tallahassee office. A Martindale-Hubbell AV Rated attorney, he has been listed regularly in Best Lawyers in America, South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Super Lawyers.
Active in the community like many of his colleagues in the Fort Lauderdale office, Goldstein is Vice Chair of the Broward Library Foundation and Immediate Past Chair of Leadership Broward.
Goldstein received his LL.M. in Tax from Georgetown University Law Center, his J.D., magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University and his Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University.
