Maria del Pilar Rubio was invited to speak at the “Reforma Tributaria Ley 1819 de 2016 y su Impacto en Empresas de Familia” conference held on Thursday, March 9, in Bogotá, Colombia.
The conference covered the Colombian tax reform of 2016 and certain United States tax matters applicable to Colombian clients affected by the local reform. Her presentation included the essential elements of U.S. income, estate and gift taxation, and alternative investment structures in the United States such as trusts, corporations, and single-member and multi-member limited liability companies.
The panel of presenters included Saul Garzón, RSM Colombia; Natalia Velez, RSM USA; Jose Luis Salgado, RSM Colombia; Sergio Viveros, Corporate & Tax Planning; and Dianne Santamaria, SunTrust Bank.
