Rikki Lober Bagatell, a partner in Shutts & Bowen's West Palm Beach office, was recently honored with the National Economic Improvement Impact Award from Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), for her work in helping rebuild New Orleans.
Ms. Bagatell represented the Canal Street Development Corporation in all aspects of the $51M Saenger Theatre Redevelopment Project from its inception. The Saenger Theatre Redevelopment Project involves a renovation, rehabilitation and expansion of the historic Saenger Theatre, which will result in a state of the art live performing arts center that will accommodate the most sophisticated touring Broadway productions. When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005, the storm caused extensive damage to the theatre and adjacent buildings. The renovation of this landmark will return the immediate vicinity of Canal Street to a thriving, active and important performing arts district, crucial for the revitalization of the City of New Orleans.
"Having lived in New Orleans for many years, I have a deep appreciation for the rich culture there," says Ms. Bagatell. "It was a privilege to use my professional skills to help rebuild the city, and contribute to the future of the Canal Street corridor and the Arts District."
