Shutts & Bowen partner, Margaret A. “Peggy” Rolando, has been named a Trustee of Florida State University by the Florida Board of Governors.
Each of the eleven state universities has a 13-member Board of Trustees responsible for setting policy and implementing and maintaining high-quality education programs consistent with the university's mission. Ms. Rolando was appointed by the Board of Governors.
Ms. Rolando graduated from Florida State University Law School and has volunteered on behalf of the University since that time. She is a member and former chairwoman of the Board of Visitors of the Florida State University College of Law.
Additionally, Ms. Rolando recently received the Annual Service Award for 2009 from the Florida Bar’s Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section for her leadership role in the Florida Attorneys Saving Homes project where volunteer lawyers assist homeowners in avoiding foreclosures. She is Florida Bar Board Certified in Real Estate Law and is also a Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. She is also admitted to the prestigious American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
