Shelly Wald, a member of Shutts & Bowen’s Trusts & Estates Department, recently spoke at and wrote for a McQuillan Education Estate Planning & Probate Training Seminar for attorneys. Ms. Wald addressed the probate process, giving a step-by-step guide to analyzing a spouse’s right to elective share, which is a surviving spouse’s right to a portion of a decedent’s estate. She also spoke on other rights available to a surviving spouse during the estate administration process. In addition, Ms. Wald authored a chapter in the seminar textbook on the same areas.
Based in the firm’s West Palm Beach office, Ms. Wald works with individuals and families of high net worth, focusing exclusively on estate planning and trust and estate administration. She is one of a limited number of Florida attorneys Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates by the Florida Bar.
