The Executive Committee of Shutts & Bowen LLP has named Michael J. “Micky” Grindstaff, a longtime Shutts & Bowen partner in real estate and land use law, as Managing Partner, Chairman Bowman Brown announced.
“Micky Grindstaff has proven himself as a great lawyer, effective leader, and inspiring mentor for newer generations of lawyers coming up in the firm. We are thrilled that he has accepted the role of Managing Partner and know he will help strengthen our position as the premier statewide Florida business law firm.”
Mr. Grindstaff, working the firm’s Executive Committee, will be responsible for the administration and growth of Shutts & Bowen’s seven offices in Florida. Mr. Brown remains Chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee.
“This is an honor and a great opportunity to serve the firm in a new capacity, and our strong leadership team will only make it easier to hit the ground running,” Mr. Grindstaff said. “It is a tribute to our excellent lawyers that Shutts & Bowen maintained steady growth over the past several years, and that we attract and retain outstanding lawyers with great professional depth. We look forward to our firm's second century of service to our clients."
As managing partner, Mr. Grindstaff succeeds Joseph D. Bolton, real estate partner in the Miami office, who served as Managing Partner since 2008. “ It has been a privilege to serve as Managing Partner for Shutts & Bowen for the past six years.” Mr. Bolton said. “I am proud of what the firm has accomplished.”

Mr. Grindstaff has a formidable list of legal and civic accomplishments. He has long been a top-rated lawyer in Chambers & Partners legal guide and Best Lawyers in America, among other honors. He is a director of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and the Orange County Sheriff Foundation. Former Sen.
